Your Wedding Photographer

Samantha Cross

Photography has been part of my life from the beginning. Some of my earliest memories are of watching images develop on my father’s vintage Polaroid camera—a small kind of magic that taught me to pay attention to the beauty and meaning held in ordinary moments.

Before photography became my full-time work, I practiced law. But through prayer and discernment, I felt called toward a life that was more creative, more faithful, and more aligned with the gifts God had given me. In April 2025, I founded Cross Photography LLC—a business name that carries both my own and a deeper reminder that faith is the foundation of this work.

As a 2025 newlywed, I understand that a wedding day is not simply a beautiful celebration. It is the beginning of a marriage and, for my Catholic couples, a sacred sacrament. It is an honor to document that beginning with care, reverence, and an eye for the moments you may not even realize are unfolding.

My philosophy

I believe the best wedding photographs are not just beautiful—they are true to your love story.

My approach balances an editorial eye with an honest, observant presence. I will guide you when you need direction, creating composed portraits that feel natural and effortless. Then, I will step back to make room for the unscripted moments: familiar hands helping you get ready, the people you love watching you exchange vows, laughter during toasts, a full dance floor, and even the quiet in between.

Inspired by the warmth and imperfection of film, my work is nostalgic, and intentionally timeless. I am drawn to soft grain, honest color, earth-toned palettes, and imagery that feels like it could live in a family album for generations. Above all, I want your photographs to bring you back—not only to how your wedding day looked, but to the joy, reverence, and grace woven throughout.

A little more about me

The meaning of Cross Photography

“Cross” is my last name, but it also reflects the deeper purpose behind this work. I founded Cross Photography with the hope of using the gift of photography to notice and preserve what is beautiful, meaningful, and worth remembering—all for His glory.

The blue woven throughout this brand is an ode to Our Lady Star of the Sea, or Stella Maris. This ancient Marian title honors Mary as a steady guide who leads us to her Son, especially through life’s uncertain waters. It felt like a fitting touchstone for work centered on the beginning of marriage: a lifelong promise in which two lives are joined, finding beauty in the ordinary and leaning on the strength of Christ for all that lies ahead.

How my faith shapes my work.

My Catholic faith shapes both the purpose and posture of my work. It reminds me that photography is not simply about making beautiful images, but about paying attention to the people, promises, and moments that carry lasting meaning.

For Catholic weddings, I understand the day as the beginning of a sacramental marriage—not merely a ceremony or celebration. I approach the Mass with respect for its rhythm and reverence for what is taking place, while remaining attentive to the gestures, relationships, and quiet details that surround it.

More than anything, my faith calls me to serve each couple with care, thoughtfulness, and gratitude for the privilege of documenting such a holy day.

What I do when I am not photographing.

When I am away from the camera, I am usually spending time with my husband, Alex, and our cats, helping behind the scenes with his law practice, planning our next trip, or seeking out a good coffee shop.

I also love long walks, praying the Rosary, shopping, and the slow, ordinary moments that remind me how much beauty there is in everyday life.

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

— 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (ESV)
